It seems trivial for someone with unpolished photography skills (if you could even call them that) and little to no writing experience to have a blog intended to share a semester through the lens of a camera. Trust me, I realize that no picture I take or story I tell is worthy of your limited free time, but if you have absolutely nothing to do or have an odd inclination to semi-follow my happenings please please do. Bear with me though. This is my first ever blog and it's been brought to my attention that I am a bit shogger (shy blogger). Maybe more of a nervogger...you get the point. I'm hoping it's one of those practice makes perfect things. Perfect. Such a strong word...
January 23, 2011 marked the start of my four month journey in Europe. I am living in Florence, Italy taking classes in classic film photography, wine tasting and pairing, art history, and Italian. I know, it's brutal. Not to mention--Katherine Black in all her glory will be by my side for this grand adventure. The goal is for you to catch a glimpse of my time and read a piece of my mind as it (hopefully) soaks up the people and culture that surround me.
Speaking of which. This is the most beautiful, historical, authentic, delicious, etc, etc city I have ever been to. I truly can't believe that it is my home. For a while at least.
The pictures are soon to come and may be few and far between since I'll be using film for my classes. I'm suuureee you (whoever you are/mom and dad) will be on the edge of your seat.
